Job Description
Banyan is seeking a passionate change agent with experience creating written communications for public health initiatives and an understanding of the specific requirements of this unique space. As a Health Communications Copywriter youll craft messages, copy, and content for a range of platforms across a spectrum of topic areas telling our clients stories in ways that resonate for diverse audiences and driving positive social and behavioral change.

In general, the role of Health Communications Copywriter involves:
Strategizing, developing and/or editing content that takes scientific and technical information and transforms it into compelling messages and copy.
Collaborating with subject matter experts, clients, and Banyans creative and strategic staff to concept and craft communications campaigns, scripts, press releases, infographics, web & social copy, and a wide range of other content types.
Editing content provided by other resources or clients to make it as impactful and strategically sound as possible while still adhering to clearance and health communications requirements.
Assimilating information and synthesizing it into impactful content that can be translated visually.
Taking full ownership of designated day-to-day responsibilities in executing assigned project tasks to ensure all deadlines are met as needed or proactively addressed.
Performing responsibilities with high initiative and follow-through and within the scope, schedule, and budget parameters of each project with enthusiasm.
Creating polished, client-ready content in various forms for review and presentation.
This role requires a track record of demonstrable work experience and professional ingenuity, showing that you are:
An expert at generating engaging and informative content for unique audiences, anchored in the unique considerations inherent in health communications content.
A natural problem-solver with a passion for creative communications and an unstoppable drive to deliver content that connects and inspires audiences.
Experienced in sourcing, developing, editing, and managing content development including call to action and measurable outcomes.
Able to back up great creative ideas with sound strategic reasoning.
A seasoned professional with exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills, and the flexibility to adapt quickly to change.
Able to work collaboratively and independently with the instinct to know when each style is appropriate.
Adept at meeting deadlines and adhering to budgets without much handholding.

Qualifications
Required skills and experiences include:
Degree in public health, communications, or related field
5+ years in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or Public Affairs with an emphasis on Health Communications or Social and Behavior Change Communications,
A strong portfolio of written work on on Public Health topics
Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills
The ability to meet project deadlines and operate within project budgets
The flexibility to adapt quickly to change
Optional skills, experiences, and/or characteristics that may set you apart include:
Written fluency in more than one language

Compensation:
Starting salaries for this position range from $65,000 to $80,000 commensurate with level / experience.
